Hi i’m Camilla and I hope you will like my blog!

I have just started care by me: a new Scandinavian design brand.

I want to create products for the discerning consumer. At care by me we love the pure materials, such as Cashmere, Silk, Cotton, Wood and Leather, but we also use other materials in our products, as long as they are supporting sustainable principles. We are inspired by our daily life, nature, art and the world we are surrounded by. We want to create a contemporary design based on everyday life, and with room for joy and fun.

We want all our products to give our customers a feeling of muted luxury, intimacy and joy to life.

The name is based on the word care, this reflects a desire that the products must embrace the people who use them, and must be done with a focus on care of the nature that contribute with materials, and last but not least proper treatment of the people who produce the products.

I’m originally graduated from the Danish Design School. But for the last years I have worked as a strategy- and business consultant in the largest Danish companies. I founded care by me, because I besides having a burning heart for design of high quality also want to work with a project that can benefit others.

On this blog I will share the process of building a new brand, and give a peak into my everyday life including children, food and design in general. Please feel free to leave a comment 🙂

I’m new in blogging, and I don’t know what a “blog roll” is – is it the list of the blogs you follow?

      • Yes – you can see my example at the bottom of my site – you can create it using ‘links’ on your dashboard. I think I just googled ‘creating a blog roll in wordpress’ to find out how to do it then you can make it visible using your ‘widgets’! 🙂

  4. Dear Camilla,

wish you all best with your new projects. I don’t know if that would be interesting for you to grow your business but you may want to check out scandinavian-lifestyle (I wrote about them here http://ninichissima.wordpress.com/2012/04/16/when-your-lap-gets-hot/). (Just to make it clear, I have no connection with them whatsoever, just thought that you might want to know about that company… you never know 😉 )

    Take care

      • (you can generally check out some networks, either abroad or in Denmark, like chambers of commerce etc … you might get in some interesting networks and get some insights. E.g. there is Schwedische Handelskammer here or Skandinavisches Wirtschaftsforum, maybe once you want to enhance online sale abroad… but also those of foreign countries in Copenhagen… again, ‘you never know’ 😉 )

      • Hi thanks for sharring – i will for sure keep this in mind! At the moment I spend so many hours talking to suppleiers, planning photoshoot / catalouge / webshop…and drawing, sewing and on and on – but I really need to follow your advise, and I will – thank you!

  8. Best of luck on your venture. I love the concept – Care and natural. It is wonderful to hear that caring includes not only sustainability and caring for your clients but also for the people who create/produce your products. 🙂

    • Dear stephanielane

Thank you so much for your nice words – it means a lot! And yes caring about the people who make our products is very important to us – this is one of the reasons I started this project – a part of our profit (when we get a profit…we need to start selling soon) will go directly to improve social life for women and children.

      – keep in touch! Camilla

    • Thank you so much for your kind words! I love being a entrepreneur even it is also hard work and sometimes i feel like running a marathon up hill 😉

  9. Hi Camille,
today you liked my post ’emotions’ about my wife posing in different ‘states of being’ for her studies psychotherapist. I have strolled around briefly on this blog, Your food seems delicious, Your scarfs very comfortable and cosy. Hope you succeed in your new business. If I can cooperate with photography, Just let me know. Been to Denmark once, but my real love goes to Norway, sorry. …

    • Dear Ludwig Thank you for your kind response! I really like your pictures – and I love Norway as well 🙂 I know a few photographers and i’m very happy that several of them have offered me to take photos for free to support my project. Maybee one day we can do something together – no matter what I’m very pleased to know you now 🙂

    • Hi Olga thank you also for stopping by – I like your blog also. Nice to read about your dreams from your childhood – and how you managed to live them 🙂 Look forward to follow! 🙂 Camilla
